Silly romance novels that promote an impossible ideal in relationships, dogmatize their impressionable readers into expecting that real life will live up to what they read. I mean really. It's one thing to read fiction to pass the time; it's another to read books that totally skew your mindset so that you have unrealistic hopes, which you don't acknowledge are unrealistic, and are unfairly (to the guy) disappointed when he doesn't shower you with rose petals, or cause your pulse to quicken as he embraces your quivering womanhood with the firm resoluteness becoming of his stature as the Third Baron of Bullcrap.
